Bonfire Night is tomorrow, and we want everyone to enjoy it safely. Here are some simple but important ways to help keep yourself and others safe while having a great time:
- Attend organised firework displays whenever possible. - Always follow the instructions on fireworks carefully. - Keep fireworks in a closed box and use them one at a time. - Never return to a firework once it has been lit. - Keep a safe distance from fireworks, bonfires, and sparklers. - Supervise children at all times and never allow young children to handle fireworks. - Hold sparklers at arm's length, wear gloves if possible, and place used sparklers in a bucket of water. - Keep pets indoors where they will feel safe and secure. - Avoid alcohol if you are responsible for lighting fireworks. - Keep a bucket of water or a hose nearby in case of emergencies. - Do not throw fireworks or aim them at people, vehicles, animals, or property. - Make sure bonfires are built away from buildings, fences, sheds, and overhanging trees. Have a fantastic Bonfire Night, stay safe, and look out for one another.
